Tree & Foliage Preparation for Hurricane Season
June 1st marks the start of Hurricane season every year and JW Landscaping, Inc. wants to remind our clients and potential customers that we are always available for a professional evaluation of your trees and landscape foliage. During this time of year this service is specifically designed to assess the risk posed by your trees and foliage should you encounter storm force winds. As always, a written estimate will be provided for free.
JW Landscaping, Inc. has a tremendous amount of "hands-on" experience dealing with hurricane and storm related tree/foliage damage. We speak from good experience when we advise, there is much less aggravation, inconvenience and cost involved in doing preventative work than calling us after the fact!
Most hardwood trees in South Florida accumulate diseased, damaged and dead wood within their branching structure, all of which should be removed. Additionally, the interiors of most trees can benefit from pruning secondary branches, branch sprouts and dense foliage, all of which offer wind resistance and can break free to cause damage. Not only is the "thinning" of the interior of a tree prudent in advance of storm season but equally beneficial to the health of the tree and the increase in sunlight penetration the remainder of the year. Additionally, tree canopies and individual branches should be trimmed to maintain safe distances from power lines and structures (roofs, windows, screen enclosures, car ports, etc.).
As one can imagine, hurricane season is a very busy time for us so we encourage inquiries as early in the year as possible.
